Ryans Thailand Trip

A NOTE FROM RYAN…

Hello friends and family.

Last November, as I was praying, I got a sense that a word I should meditate on throughout the next year was “GO”. I talked with Anne, and we prayed for discernment of what “GO” meant for me. Through the first part of the year, I have explored many trips ranging from Peru, Vanuatu, Nepal, and many others. As we talked with family on the fourth of July, a medical mission trip to Thailand was brought to my attention. As I prayed on it, the doors kept opening, unlike all the other trips that I was and had been praying about. As I am a little slow to pick up on things, God made it abundantly clear that this is His will for me.

I will be traveling to Thailand January 14th-26, 2025. The trip is a medical mission trip in Mae Sot, Thailand which borders Myanmar. We will be bringing the hope and help through medical service in a clinic and in the villages surrounding Mae Sot. Being a Wilderness First Responder has prepared me to become an addition to the team of Doctors, Nurses, and volunteers. Because of the clinic location, most of the patients are from Myanmar.

Myanmar has been in civil unrest and conflict for many years. As recent as 2021, the conflict has increased and the division between the Myanmar army and the ethnic groups has grown. This has had widespread impacts on neighboring countries like Thailand, which has taken in many refugees. While in Thailand, we will be sharing the hope of Christ with the displaced refugees. Mae Sot is located directly on the border and is the first place where many people fleeing can escape the conflict.

I am very excited to be a part of this team. As I prepare for the trip, I need your prayers for safety and God to work in and through me, and I want to humbly ask you to consider supporting me financially. The cost of the trip is $3740. I am trying to raise $3000 before the October 1st deadline and the remaining $1000 by November 1st. Any amount would be great, but if you would be willing to contribute any amount, it would really help me to reach my goal!

I would love it if you would prayerfully consider joining my support team—either through prayer, financial support or both. All donations are tax-deductible and directions for financial contributions can be found below. Thank you for partnering with me and supporting me as I prepare for this adventure

Blessings, Ryan

Matt & Arold’s TRIP TO KENYA (Maasai/Turkana)

A note from Matt ABOUt tHE TRIP:

BACK TO KENYA
Recently I have been presented with an incredible opportunity to partner with a missions agency called Unusual Soldiers to minister with Maasai pastors and to check on an ongoing work with the Turkana tribe in Northern Kenya. I will be traveling to Kenya March 23 - 31. I am excited to be returning to a region of Africa that I have been involved with for almost 16 years.

Since my first trip in 2008, numerous churches have been planted. This vision has always been about the Maasai reaching the Maasai. With that in mind I have been investing in spiritual leaders within the Maasai tribe, traveling with them to unreached places, providing support, and training. I am excited to now be partnering with Unusual Solders; it was through this ministry many years ago that my life was forever changed.

There are 3 goals for this trip:

  • Speak at multiple Maasai churches and conferences.

  • Participate in the Bush Ministry. We will travel and hike through areas in need of hope.

  • Travel and assist a very remote Turkana village that Unusual Soldiers brought a water well to last year. After the well was drilled, a school was launched! My hope is to continue to help this region of Kenya. The area is very dry and desolate and the people have faced many hardships from conflict, starvation, and drought. I will be helping this village get school supplies, get a water trough for the animals, get food, and deliver a mode of transportation to the school for the teacher to use.

While I have visited this region several times and feel comfortable ministering among the Maasai, I know that it would be foolish to rely on my own strength and experience as we travel. Our team will be engaging in a spiritual battle and the struggle will be intense. Please join me in prayer for spiritual, mental, and physical preparation, for protection and strength, for enemy strongholds to be broken and the power of the Holy Spirit to be at work. Please pray also that the Lord will burden others with this mission and that the necessary financial support will be raised. *I will need a total of $3500 and my ministry partner Arold will need to raise $3,500 to pay for our airfare, ministry expenses, and in-country travel/lodging. Much of this support has to be raised by March.

Thank you for your love and support through the years!

Matt M.

*Please note, that If additional funds are raised it’ll go towards future Unusual Soldiers endeavors.

Biz’S trip to Ukraine

Biz’S trip to Ukraine

Our Ukrainian ministry partner will be headed to the war front with Biz to link arms with a Ukrainian military chaplain. Biz and his ministry partner will be purchasing a 4x4 truck for the chaplain to help him with transportation needs. The three of them will then be bringing spiritual encouragement to the soldiers, churches, and the families. They will also be meeting needs where they can and assessing how to better help families or chaplains in the future. Biz plans to document part of the trip to help bring greater awareness and assistance to the needs of families and possibly chaplains in the future. As always, with a trip like this everything is flexible. We covet your prayers for wisdom, safety, our families, and our mission to be a spiritual and physical blessing to those in desperate need…in Jesus name.

It’s important to note, that Unusual Soldiers is an apolitical ministry. Our ministry doesn’t carry guns nor choose sides in conflicts. Rather Unusual Soldiers goes where people are suffering and where our partners invite us. We aim to be ambassadors of faith, hope, love, and peace…in Jesus’ name. The end date of this trip is tentative and may change depending on the situation. Below are some unique price points for this trip if you feel led to get involved financially. Thank you to everyone who has gotten behind this initiative!
